Celebrate National Library Giving Day on April 3

April 1, 2024--April 3, 2024, is Library Giving Day!  It is a time set aside each year to encourage patrons and library lovers to make a gift to their local library.  It also reminds us that libraries, small and large, serve as a cornerstone for our communities.  In addition to well-loved books and movies, libraries offer innovative programs, public computers, help with technology, and so much more.  The Berryville Library is  open seven days a week and offers over 500 free programs annually, including a host of activities, events, camps, and clubs for all ages.

Right now is the right time to celebrate our library with a gift to the Berryville Library Building Project.  Launched in 2021, the Building Project has raised over $3 million towards the goal of building a new library in Berryville.  This marks 90% of the original fundraising goal and puts this campaign very close to its end.

In honor of this year’s Library Giving Day, the Berryville Library is announcing the “Stick Your Name on This Campaign in 2024” program. For each new gift of $100, $250, or $451, a special sticker, personalized with the name of the donor or a person the donor wishes to honor or remember, will be placed in a book in the library, giving that book its wings to fly to the new library. That special name will then live in our new library for the entire time the book remains in our collection.

Larger gifts are also accepted. Gifts over $1000 will be acknowledged on a donor wall in the new library that will remain in place for the life of the new building. Only donations made to the Berryville Library Building Project will be placed on this wall so that the community can always remember the people who stepped up to help write this part of the Berryville Library’s story.

According to Julie Hall, Library Director, “We are so close to reaching the end of this story and doing what many thought might be impossible, raising enough money to build a new library for Berryville. This new building has been desperately needed for years now. Help us write this final chapter by making a gift to the Building Project. No gift is too large or too small, but the stickers provide a fun way to honor a special book lover in your life be it a grandkid, a parent, even yourself!”

Gifts can be made in person at the library located at 104 Spring St., or online at berryvillelibrary.org/building, or by contacting Kristy Tesch directly at (870) 654-6565.  All gifts are tax-deductible.

Be a part of writing the final chapter of this story.  Plan to make a gift to the Berryville Library Building Project this April!
